We Test Vet’s Best Waterless Cat Bath

Generally speaking cats don’t like water, and they really don’t like to be bathed in a tub full of water. It stresses them out and can cause multiple scratches to the unlucky person doing the bathing. Vet’s Best Waterless Cat Bath was formulated as a solution to this problem by Veterinarian Dawn Curie Thomas. Made with Aloe Vera and Neem Oil, Vet’s Best Waterless Cat Bath claims that it’s fragrance will calm and relax your cat as it moisturizes the coat and skin.

To see how the Waterless Cat Bath worked, I tested it on three of my cats. The directions were simple, apply to your cat’s fur, massage in, and brush them after they dry. I applied it to my first cat’s fur and I had to catch him as he ran off. Needless to say, he didn’t like it, so I don’t think he found it to be very calming. After catching him I then massaged it into his fur. It did take a large amount of fur off him during the application. I had to run outside right after and wipe the cat hair off my hands. I then brushed him out after he had dried, and he did look better, his coat appeared smoother than before.

My second cat proved to be a much different experience. She loved the massage she received when I applied the bath to her coat and when it was over she wanted more. After waiting for her to dry I then gave her a good brushing, which she also just loved, and it removed a lot of the clumpy fur and dander she frequently gets on her back just above her tail as she is an older cat and has a hard time grooming that area of her body.

My third cat is another older cat who also has a hard time grooming her lower back. Like the first cat, she didn’t exactly like being bathed, but I only had to hold her a little, and after the initial application she seemed to view it as being petted, which she loves. Again brushing her out brought up a lot of dander.

The end result? Vet’s Best Waterless Cat Bath was very easy to use and only took a couple of minutes. All three cats did smell very nice afterwards and their fur felt much softer. I also noticed that a week after they were bathed, my two older cat’s had a lot less dander than usual and less shedding. For that reason, and because it makes them smell pretty, I will use the Waterless Cat Bath again, and I can recommend it as an easy alternative for bathing your cat.
